WASHINGTON — Democrats won control of both the House and Senate in Tuesday’s midterm elections, flipping at least 40 House seats and at least seven Senate seats, SCOTUSblog reported.
Democrats are guaranteed at least 54 Senate seats, and that number could grow to 56, Straight Arrow News reported. In Alaska, Democrat Mary Peltola led Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan by 637 votes with about three-quarters of the expected vote counted.
President Donald Trump agreed with Vice President JD Vance that the Iran war contributed to Republican losses. “Well, I think it’s largely true because it drove the gasoline up,” Trump said, according to Anadolu Agency.
