Cloudflare outlines controls for personal AI-agent traffic

The company distinguishes existing tools from standards still under development.

Status: source-checked.

Cloudflare outlined a framework Thursday for connecting activity by personal AI agents to the users they represent, arguing that website operators need clearer identity and accountability signals when automated assistants act online.

According to Cloudflare, the company said its early-access Account Abuse Protection product can identify logins and sign-ups made by personal agents and allow action against an individual account rather than an entire shared agent service.

Cloudflare separately described ongoing work on protocols and standards for agent identification and user information. Its proposed approach should not be read as an adopted web-wide standard or a requirement accepted by every website.
